Class Acts! is open to all Douglas
County Schools, grades K-12.
Class Acts! is intended to be
a program that involves all members of a classroom. If individual
students or parents have ideas, they are encouraged to go
through their teacher and classroom to apply for the grant.
Proposals will be accepted October
thru May and reviewed on a monthly basis.
Once a proposal is submitted,
it is eligible to win every month throughout the school year.
Teachers can submit as many entries
as they wish, but can only receive one grant per school year.
Classes may also submit a joint proposal.
Proposals will be judged on educational
impact, creativity and mass appeal. Proposals should also
include what the students will learn and how it fits into
the classroom.
The panel of judges will include
individuals from Douglas County businesses, area educators,
The Superior Daily Telegram and Murphy Oil. The $500 grants
will be presented to the winning classes at an awards ceremony
the first week of each month, and will be used to help implement
their program.
Special note: Schools are allowed to
have more than one winning class per year.
